Privacy Policy

Hill Explorer ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Hill Explorer mobile application ("App") and related services.

1. Data We Do Not Store

We do not retain the following data on our own servers:

• Your location (GPS coordinates)
• Photos taken within the App
• User-generated content
• Personal identifiers that you provide directly to us

This data is processed locally on your device or temporarily used to provide functionality. This section does not describe data processed by third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting providers, as described below.

2. Data Used for App Functionality

Location

The App uses your precise location (GPS) to identify nearby hills, peaks, and points of interest.
This data is processed in real time and is not stored.

Camera

The App uses your device camera to provide augmented reality (AR) functionality.
Photos taken by the user are saved only to the user's device and are never transmitted to our servers.

API Requests

When using the App, your device sends:

• Latitude
• Longitude
• Elevation

These are used solely to retrieve relevant nearby objects.
We do not store this data.

3. Advertising (AdMob)

The App uses Google AdMob to display third-party advertisements. When you allow it and applicable law permits it, Google may use information from the App and other apps, websites, or services to select and measure personalized advertisements. Otherwise, ads may be limited or non-personalized.

Google Mobile Ads SDK and its advertising technology providers may collect, receive, or process data such as:

• Device and advertising identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID or iOS IDFA, if available)
• App, advertising, and product interaction data, including ad impressions and interactions
• IP address and approximate location derived from it

This information may be used for ad delivery, ad personalization, advertising measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. We do not use your precise GPS location, camera data, photos, or data from protected device APIs to personalize advertising.

Advertising data is processed by Google and, where enabled for this App, Google-selected advertising technology providers. The current providers and purposes are identified in the consent message and Privacy Options screen in the App.

We do not retain advertising identifiers or advertising interaction data on our own servers. Google and advertising technology providers retain and delete data under their own policies; see their privacy information and use the choices below to manage processing.

In the App, open Settings > Privacy Options to review or change advertising choices whenever that option is required. On iOS, App Tracking Transparency is a separate system permission that you can change in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Your tracking choice is respected independently of other privacy choices.

For users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, we request legally required consent before using personal data for ad personalization. You may withdraw consent through Privacy Options at any time.

4. Purchases and Subscriptions

Subscriptions and payments are processed through the billing platform for your device: Google Play Billing on Android and the Apple App Store on iOS.

We do not have access to:

• Your payment details
• Credit card information

Google and Apple handle all transactions according to their own policies.

5. Data Storage

We do not store personal data on our servers.
Data used for App functionality is processed in real time. Third-party providers may process and retain data as described in their policies and in this Privacy Policy.

6. Server Location

Our services may use servers located within the European Union or other regions.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Crash Reporting and Analytics

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and diagnostic information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and stack traces so we can detect and fix technical issues.

The App may also use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics and app interaction data in order to improve app features, stability, and user experience. Analytics collection is enabled only with user consent where required by applicable law.

Crashlytics and Analytics services are provided by Google Firebase and processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

This website uses Simple Analytics, a cookieless privacy-friendly analytics service that does not track individual users.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to:

• Request access to your data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data

To exercise choices for Google advertising, use Privacy Options in the App. For other requests, contact us. We will respond for data under our control and, where appropriate, explain how to contact the relevant third-party provider.
